  • AV Expertise Needed at St. Fabian AV Expertise Needed at St. Fabian

A few years ago, St. Fabian made a wise investment in advanced technology. A wireless campus, simulcast capabilities for the church, equipping the Fr. Norbert Social Hall for presentations and video monitoring were among the technology added. However, we are learning that this investment requires a team of volunteers to utilize and maintain. We have an IT group who meet a few times a year to manage campus technology and plan for the future. While this group accomplishes plenty in its brief, early morning meetings, a few new team members would always be welcomed.

Another area where we could certainly improve is the addition of the audio/visual equipment mainly used in the church and social hall. When we host presenters or celebrate major liturgies, parish staff is often occupied with responsibilities of the event, and most importantly, working to ensure that visitors feel welcomed. Recording the event or presentation to be shared online is an additional responsibility that often fails to be accomplished or is an afterthought. Having an A/V team to volunteer to set up, record and place events online would ensure that the parish staff is available to do what they do best and that we are utilizing this investment to its fullest potential.

With a few volunteers stepping up and becoming familiar with our equipment, the responsibility would never be a burden. Having poured parish resources into this technology, please help me identify those who would be willing to assist us in carrying out the mission. Contact me at ppyrkosz@stfabian.org or 248.553.4610 ext 222, suggest a good time to meet, and we will see if we can bring a few of our best resources together.
